Like any good social media/community manager, I consume a lot of content every week. A ridiculous amount. I don’t know how I have a life either.
Here’s some of what I’ve consumed this week:
What I Read
This week, I finished up the published volumes of Outlander. There’s a whole lot of predictable in these books and there’s no way anyone will ever consider them great works of literature. I don’t really care. I need a new volume NOW. Sometimes you just read what feels good, not what looks good.
What I Watched
Last Saturday afternoon, I took myself to the movies and shoved a whole lot of popcorn into my face as I watched Brittany Runs A Marathon. The pacing and character development were underwhelming. But I still found myself crying at the end and had to calm my butt down before I left. All the feelings you go through when you take up a new thing are here, and it’s an enjoyable ride despite the bumps in the road.
What I Listened To
I’m not all cool with the cool music so don’t expect to find anything groundbreaking or at all listenable here. But still… My friend and I have this ongoing conversation about how Rivers Cuomo is just punking us with the new Weezer. That said, I do enjoy the heck out of Weezer Karaoke and I don’t care what anyone thinks about that. But to support the case that Rivers is in fact punking us, I really like listening to Sober Up by AJR. Yes, those are Rivers vocals.
What I Learned
A week without learning something is in fact a sad week. I’m in the midst of trying to master Italian. I’ll be in Italy for two weeks in March, and my husband said, “There’s no way you can speak Italian well enough to understand what people are saying or make yourself understood.” Well, buster, we’ll just see about that. Mio marito é tonto.
A Great Blog Post
I love Facebook Live videos for clients. It’s a great time to interact with your audience and create something together. But it’s undeniable that when you’re done, you’re stuck with a video that is almost definitely awkward at some points. So I squeed when I read up on the new changes coming to Facebook Live. Mostly I’m excited to finally get some post-Live editing features. NO MORE AWKWARD BEGINNINGS! Or middles. Or endings. When it comes to Facebook Live, you just never know what’s going to happen.
